Mumbo Jumbo (roller coaster)
Mumbo Jumbo is a steel roller coaster located at Flamingo Land in Kirby Misperton, North Yorkshire, England. When it opened on July 4, 2009, it briefly held the record for the steepest roller coaster drop in the world, with a drop of 112 degrees. This record was superseded later the same year by Steel Hawg at Indiana Beach.
The ride is themed around African jungles. It is a relatively compact coaster, packing several inversions and high-G force elements into a small area. Its bright orange track is highly visible from around the park.
Mumbo Jumbo is notable for its theming elements, relatively short ride time, and intense forces exerted on riders during its various maneuvers. The name is derived from the West African phrase "mumbo jumbo," often associated with confused or nonsensical language, which, according to the park, reflects the disorientation experienced during the ride.
The coaster was manufactured by S&S – Sansei Technologies.
