Thomas Cowan (South Australian politician)

Thomas Cowan (born 1833, died 1925) was a politician in the colony and later the state of South Australia.

Cowan was a pastoralist before entering politics. He was elected to the South Australian House of Assembly for the seat of Yatala in 1890, serving until 1902. He later represented the Northern District in the South Australian Legislative Council from 1910 to 1924.

Cowan was a conservative politician. During his time in parliament, he was involved in debates surrounding land reform, education, and electoral laws. He was generally supportive of policies that favored the interests of landowners and rural communities.
