Chris Wood (footballer, born 1955)

Christopher "Chris" Wood (born 1 July 1955) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder.

Career

Wood began his professional career with Bristol Rovers in 1973, making his debut in the Football League. He quickly established himself as a regular in the Rovers' midfield. He remained with the club until 1980, amassing over 200 league appearances.

In 1980, Wood transferred to Swindon Town. He spent two seasons with Swindon before moving to Exeter City in 1982. He spent the remainder of his professional career with Exeter, playing until his retirement in 1985.
