Burzum (album)

Burzum is the self-titled debut studio album by Norwegian black metal artist Burzum. It was released in March 1992 through Deathlike Silence Productions. The album is considered a cornerstone of early black metal, showcasing a raw and minimalist sound characterized by lo-fi production, repetitive riffs, and Varg Vikernes' distinctive vocals.

The album features seven tracks, all written and performed by Vikernes. The song titles are in English, contrasting with the more common use of Norwegian or other Scandinavian languages in the genre. The lyrical themes, while difficult to decipher due to the vocal delivery and production, explore themes of darkness, mythology, and misanthropy.
