The Stone (band)
The Stone is a Serbian black metal band formed in 1996 in Belgrade. They are considered one of the pioneers of the black metal scene in Serbia and the wider Balkan region.
Known for their distinctive blend of traditional black metal elements with influences from Serbian folklore and mythology, The Stone incorporates themes of ancient history, paganism, and Slavic spirituality into their lyrics and overall aesthetic. This combination distinguishes them from many other black metal bands.
Throughout their career, The Stone has released several full-length albums, EPs, and splits, gaining a dedicated following both locally and internationally. They have also toured extensively, performing at numerous metal festivals and concerts across Europe.
The band's lineup has undergone changes over the years, but the core members have remained consistent in driving the band's musical direction. Their music is characterized by fast tempos, aggressive guitar riffs, and harsh vocals, combined with atmospheric elements and melodic passages that evoke a sense of epic grandeur and ancient mystique. The Stone continues to be an active and influential force in the black metal community.
