The Playmaker (album)
The Playmaker is the fourth studio album by American hip hop artist DJ Quik. It was released on April 27, 1999, on Arista Records. The album features guest appearances from Bizzy Bone, El DeBarge, 8Ball & MJG, and Nate Dogg. Production was handled primarily by DJ Quik, alongside G-One, and Teddy Riley.
The Playmaker charted on the Billboard 200, peaking at number 23. It also reached number 5 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Singles from the album included "Hand In Hand" and "Pitch In on a Party." While critically well-received at the time, it is often viewed as a transitional album in DJ Quik's discography, bridging his earlier G-funk sound with more contemporary R&B and hip-hop influences.
