Karen McDonald (Coronation Street)

Karen McDonald (née Phillips, later Gascoyne) is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera, Coronation Street. Portrayed by Suranne Jones, Karen appeared on screen from 2000 to 2004, and again briefly in 2024.

Karen was introduced as a factory worker at Underworld and quickly established herself as a fiery and ambitious character, often using her looks and charm to get what she wanted. Her storylines primarily revolved around her tumultuous relationship with Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson), whom she married twice. Their relationship was characterised by constant arguments, infidelity, and reconciliations, captivating viewers and cementing Karen's status as a memorable character.
