Iowa (band)
Iowa is a Russian nu-metal and pop rock band formed in St. Petersburg in 2009. The core members are vocalist Ekaterina Ivanchikova (also known as Katya Iowa), guitarist Leonid Tereshchenko, and drummer Vasily Bulanov.
The band initially gained traction with online releases and performances at local venues. Their breakthrough came with the singles "Mamá" and "Marshrutka," which achieved significant radio airplay and popularity. They are known for their energetic live performances and blend of rock instrumentation with pop sensibilities.
Iowa has released several studio albums and EPs, including "Export" (2014), "Import" (2016), and "#ЛюдиБоятсяЛюбить" (2020). They have received numerous music awards and nominations in Russia. The band's music often explores themes of love, relationships, and social commentary.
Besides their studio work, Iowa has also contributed music to various films and television series.
