The Moments (English band)

The Moments were a British soul band, formed in the late 1960s and best known for their hits "Nine Times" (1970) and "Jack in the Box" (1970). The group underwent several lineup changes, but were primarily known for their smooth harmonies and romantic ballads. Originating from London, they initially achieved success in the UK and Europe.

The original lineup featured Delroy Wilson, Sylvester Williams, and Franklyn James. Later members included John Kerr and Junior Giscombe (later known as Junior), who contributed to their later recordings.

While primarily a studio band, The Moments toured and performed live, often supporting larger acts. Their music was particularly popular in the Northern soul scene in the UK. Although not a household name in the United States, their recordings were influential in shaping the British soul sound of the era. The group eventually disbanded, with members pursuing solo careers or other musical projects. Their music continues to be enjoyed by soul music enthusiasts today.
