The Days of the Turbins (film)
The Days of the Turbins (Дни Турбиных) is a 1976 Soviet three-part television film adaptation of Mikhail Bulgakov's play The Days of the Turbins, which itself is an adaptation of his novel The White Guard. The film was directed by Vladimir Basov and produced by Mosfilm.
The film follows the fate of the Turbin family, a group of intellectuals living in Kiev during the Russian Civil War in 1918-1919. As the Bolsheviks advance and political allegiances shift, the Turbins and their friends are caught in the turmoil and forced to confront difficult choices about their loyalty, identity, and future. The film depicts the disintegration of the White movement in Kiev and the personal tragedies experienced by the characters as they navigate the chaos of war. The cast includes Andrei Myagkov, Andrei Rostotsky, and Valentina Titova.
