Tecno (motorsport)

Tecno was an Italian racing car constructor and Formula One team that competed between 1963 and 1973. Founded by brothers Gianfranco and Luciano Pederzani, the company initially built karts before expanding into other forms of motorsport. Tecno achieved considerable success in Formula Two, winning the European championship in 1968 and 1970 with Jean-Pierre Beltoise and Clay Regazzoni respectively.

In 1972, Tecno entered Formula One as a constructor, initially supplying engines and chassis to the Martini Racing Team. For 1973, they ran their own team with Chris Amon as the driver. The car, however, was uncompetitive and the team suffered from internal disputes. Tecno withdrew from Formula One at the end of the 1973 season and ceased operations shortly thereafter. Despite their short and ultimately unsuccessful foray into Formula One, Tecno remains a notable name in motorsport history, particularly for their success in Formula Two.
