Syrup (film)
Syrup is a 2013 American satirical comedy film directed by Aram Rappaport, based on the 1999 novel of the same name by Max Barry, who also wrote the screenplay. The film stars Amber Heard, Shiloh Fernandez, Kellan Lutz, and Brittany Snow.
The plot revolves around Scat, a marketing intern who believes he has a brilliant idea – a revolutionary new soda called "Fukk Cola" (later renamed "Syrup" for marketability). He gets betrayed by his roommate, Sneaky Pete, who steals the idea. Scat then teams up with a mysterious marketing executive named Six to reclaim his idea and navigate the cutthroat world of corporate branding. The film satirizes consumerism, marketing tactics, and the pursuit of success in the modern corporate landscape. It received generally negative reviews upon release, with critics citing issues with pacing, character development, and its faithfulness to the source material.
