Magna-Fi
Magna-Fi was an American rock band formed in Louisville, Kentucky in 1999. The band's music blended elements of hard rock, alternative rock, and pop. Their sound was characterized by heavy guitar riffs, melodic vocals, and a strong emphasis on catchy hooks and choruses.
Magna-Fi was composed of vocalist and guitarist Arthur "Art" Hodge, guitarist Ryan Hodge, bassist Chris Reynolds, and drummer Chad "Chiz" Whittaker. The band gained regional popularity through extensive touring and strong local radio support before achieving wider recognition.
The band's major label debut album, ...Is Alive!, was released in 2003 on EMI Records. The album spawned the singles "Where Did We Go Wrong" and "My Girlfriends." "Where Did We Go Wrong" received significant airplay on rock radio stations across the United States and helped propel the band to national attention. Magna-Fi toured extensively in support of the album, opening for bands such as 3 Doors Down, Nickelback, and Staind.
After departing EMI Records, Magna-Fi independently released the album Epic Cure in 2009. The band continued to tour and perform sporadically before eventually disbanding. While the band has not been active in recent years, their music continues to be streamed and enjoyed by fans of early 2000s rock music.
