Crow (missile)

The Crow was a series of air-to-air missile prototypes developed by Hughes Aircraft during the late 1940s and early 1950s for the United States Air Force. The program explored various guidance and propulsion methods for early guided missiles, including both radar and infrared homing technologies. The Crow missiles were never put into mass production or operational service, but they contributed significantly to the research and development of subsequent generations of American air-to-air missiles, such as the AIM-4 Falcon. The different variants of the Crow experimented with various aerodynamic configurations and control surfaces. Information on specific capabilities like range or warhead size is limited due to the experimental nature of the program and its early Cold War context.
