Suusamyr (river)

The Suusamyr is a river in the Chüy Region of Kyrgyzstan. It is formed by the confluence of the Western Karakol and the Kökyömeren rivers. The Suusamyr flows in a generally eastward direction through the Suusamyr Valley. It eventually joins the Western Karakol river again to form the Karakol River, a major tributary of the Kokomeren River, part of the Naryn River basin, which ultimately flows into the Syr Darya. The river is known for its cold, fast-flowing waters and is used for irrigation and occasionally for rafting. The surrounding area is primarily mountainous terrain used for summer pastures.
