Argus (automobile)
The Argus was a German automobile manufactured by the Argus Motoren Gesellschaft in Berlin from 1902 to 1906. Initially producing vehicles under licence from the French Darracq company, Argus soon began developing and producing its own models. These early Argus cars were typically powered by Argus-built engines, often featuring a distinctive round radiator. The company focused on producing high-quality, reliable vehicles, though production numbers remained relatively low. While not a major force in the burgeoning automobile industry of the time, Argus played a role in the early development of German automotive engineering. The Argus company is better known for its later work in the development and production of aircraft engines, a field they entered after their automotive venture.
