Strawberry Island (New York)

Strawberry Island is a small, uninhabited island located in the Niagara River, within the city of Tonawanda, Erie County, New York. It is situated upstream from Grand Island, and lies between the mainland of Tonawanda and the larger island.

The island is primarily composed of wetlands and forested areas, providing habitat for a variety of wildlife, including birds, fish, and small mammals. Due to its location in the Niagara River, it is subject to seasonal flooding and strong currents.

Strawberry Island's history includes periods of use for recreational purposes, such as fishing and boating.
