Stephen Coleman (professor)

Stephen Coleman is a Professor of Political Communication at the Institute for Communications Studies (ICS) at the University of Leeds, UK. He is known for his research focusing on the relationship between citizens, media, and politics, particularly in the context of changing technologies and democratic participation.

His work explores how media formats and platforms shape political understanding and engagement, with a particular emphasis on the role of digital media in creating new forms of citizenship and political expression. He has conducted extensive research on youth political engagement, online deliberation, and the changing nature of political news.
