Admiralteyskaya (Saint Petersburg Metro)

Admiralteyskaya is a station on the Frunzensko-Primorskaya Line (Line 5) of the Saint Petersburg Metro. It is one of the deepest metro stations in the world, located approximately 86 meters (282 feet) below ground. The station's name refers to the Admiralty building, a prominent historical landmark situated nearby on the surface.

Admiralteyskaya opened on December 28, 2011, after significant construction delays due to the complex hydrogeological conditions of the area. It is a transfer station to Nevsky Prospekt station on the Moskovsko-Petrogradskaya Line (Line 2) via a long transfer corridor.

The station's design is notable for its elaborate decorations, which feature mosaics and other artistic elements depicting the history of the Russian Navy and the city of Saint Petersburg. The station has a high passenger volume, serving as a crucial transportation hub for residents and tourists visiting the city center. It is a single-vault deep station, meaning it lacks a central support structure.
