St. Cecilia Cathedral (Omaha)

St. Cecilia Cathedral, located in Omaha, Nebraska, is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Omaha. It is a prominent landmark and a significant example of Spanish Renaissance Revival architecture. Construction began in 1905 and was completed in 1959, although the cathedral was dedicated in 1916.

The cathedral is notable for its use of terra cotta, both inside and out, which contributes to its distinctive appearance. The exterior features intricate detailing and soaring towers. Inside, St. Cecilia Cathedral boasts stained glass windows depicting scenes from the Bible and the lives of saints, as well as marble altars and statues. The cathedral's organ is also a significant instrument.

St. Cecilia Cathedral hosts regular religious services, including daily Mass and special liturgical celebrations. It also serves as a center for community outreach and education. The cathedral is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, recognizing its architectural and historical importance. Its architecture and design are attributed primarily to architects Thomas Rogers Kimball and C.C. Stauduhle.
