South High School (Youngstown, Ohio)

South High School was a public high school located in Youngstown, Ohio. Part of the Youngstown City School District, it served students primarily from the south side of the city. The school was known for its athletic programs, particularly its football team, which historically maintained a strong rivalry with other Youngstown high schools. Academically, South High School offered a comprehensive curriculum including college preparatory courses and vocational training. Throughout its history, the school was a significant community hub for the residents of Youngstown's south side, hosting various events and activities. South High School closed its doors permanently in 2007 as part of a district-wide consolidation plan. The building was later demolished.
