Ford Flex

The Ford Flex is a full-size crossover SUV manufactured by the Ford Motor Company from 2008 to 2019. Distinguished by its boxy shape and available contrasting roof paint, it was marketed as an alternative to minivans and traditional SUVs. The Flex was based on the Ford D4 platform, which it shared with the Ford Taurus and Lincoln MKS.

The vehicle featured three rows of seating, accommodating up to seven passengers. It was offered with a choice of V6 engines, including a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter and a turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost version. Both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations were available.

Throughout its production run, the Ford Flex received minor styling and equipment updates. However, its core design remained largely unchanged, maintaining its distinctive and polarizing aesthetic. The vehicle was manufactured at Ford's Oakville Assembly Plant in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. Its production ceased in 2019, with Ford citing declining sales and a shift in consumer preferences towards more traditional SUVs as reasons for its discontinuation.
