Centelles
Centelles is a municipality located in the comarca of Osona, in the province of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the geographical sub-unit of the Plana de Vic (Plain of Vic).
Geography: Centelles is characterised by its location on the Plana de Vic, a fertile plain surrounded by mountains. Its elevation is approximately 550 meters above sea level. The climate is typically Mediterranean continental, with hot summers and cold winters.
History: Archaeological findings suggest that the area has been inhabited since Roman times. The name "Centelles" is believed to derive from the Roman family name "Centilius." During the Middle Ages, the area was under the control of various feudal lords. Centelles gained importance as a strategic point and a center for agricultural activities.
