Sonny Parker (basketball)
Sonny Parker (born March 22, 1955) is an American former professional basketball player. A 6'6" guard/forward, Parker played eight seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Parker played college basketball at Texas A&M University, where he was a standout player. He was drafted by the Golden State Warriors with the 17th overall pick in the 1976 NBA draft.
During his NBA career, Parker played for the Warriors (1976-1979), the Kansas City Kings (1979-1980), and the Seattle SuperSonics (1980-1984). He was known for his athleticism, scoring ability, and defensive skills. His best season statistically came in 1977-78 with the Warriors, where he averaged 12.4 points per game.
After his NBA career, Parker has remained involved in basketball, participating in various community and youth programs. He is considered an Aggie Legend at Texas A&M.
