Sochocin

Sochocin is a town in Płońsk County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Sochocin. It lies approximately 12 kilometres (7 mi) north-east of Płońsk and 64 km (40 mi) north-west of Warsaw.

The town has a population of approximately 1,900 (as of 2023 estimates; population figures vary between sources).

Historically, Sochocin received town rights in 1417, granted by Duke Janusz I of Warsaw. These rights were later lost, and Sochocin was re-granted town status in 1950.

The local economy is primarily based on agriculture and small businesses.
