Romeu (footballer)

Oriol Romeu Vidal (born 24 September 1991), known as Romeu, is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for La Liga club Barcelona.

Career:

Romeu began his career with Barcelona's youth system, progressing through the ranks before making his debut for the first team in 2010. He then moved to Chelsea in 2011, where he spent three seasons, including loan spells at Valencia and VfB Stuttgart.

In 2015, Romeu joined Southampton, becoming a key player for the club over several seasons. He established himself as a consistent and reliable defensive midfielder in the Premier League.

In 2022, Romeu signed with Girona in La Liga.

In 2023, Romeu returned to Barcelona.
