Slaughter (1972 film)
Slaughter is a 1972 American blaxploitation action film directed by Jack Starrett and starring Jim Brown, Stella Stevens, and Rip Torn. The film centers on Slaughter, a former Green Beret captain seeking revenge for the murder of his parents by the Mafia.
The plot follows Slaughter as he relentlessly pursues the mobsters responsible, culminating in a violent confrontation. Along the way, he encounters Annabelle, a white mistress of a mob boss, who becomes involved in his quest. The film is characterized by its graphic violence, car chases, and revenge themes common in the blaxploitation genre.
Slaughter spawned a sequel, Slaughter's Big Rip-Off (1973), also starring Jim Brown. The film, while not critically acclaimed, was a commercial success and helped solidify Brown's status as an action star. It remains a significant entry in the blaxploitation film movement of the 1970s.
