Brothers (band)
Brothers was a short-lived American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1972. The group featured brothers Anson Funderburgh and Earl Funderburgh, although the latter's role was primarily behind the scenes. The lineup primarily consisted of Anson Funderburgh on guitar and vocals, backed by a rotating cast of musicians.
The band's sound was rooted in blues rock with country and soul influences, showcasing Anson Funderburgh's guitar playing prominently. They toured extensively throughout the southwestern United States, developing a local following.
Brothers released one self-titled album in 1973 on a small, independent label. The album received little commercial attention, and the band dissolved shortly thereafter. Anson Funderburgh went on to achieve greater recognition with the band Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets, while Earl Funderburgh pursued other interests. While their initial impact was limited, the album remains a sought-after collector's item among fans of blues rock and is recognized for showcasing Anson Funderburgh's early talent.
