Shane Smith (baseball)
Shane Smith is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 2006 and 2007.
Smith was drafted by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 6th round of the 2001 MLB draft. Prior to his professional career, he played college baseball at the University of South Carolina.
In his MLB career, Smith appeared in 22 games, all in relief. He had a career ERA of 6.04 in 25.1 innings pitched. He recorded 17 strikeouts.
Since retiring from professional baseball, Smith has worked as a baseball instructor.
