Ray Crist
Ray Crist (1900-1994) was an American chemist known for his research in catalysis, photochemistry, and reaction kinetics. He was a Professor of Chemistry at Columbia University for over 30 years. Crist made significant contributions to understanding the mechanisms of chemical reactions, particularly those involving free radicals and chain reactions. He also investigated the effects of light on chemical reactions and the role of catalysts in accelerating reaction rates. His work contributed to advancements in fields such as petroleum refining and the development of new chemical processes. He held several patents related to his research.
