Seyi Shay

Seyi Shay (born Deborah Oluwaseyi Joshua, December 21, 1985) is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and actress. She was born and raised in Tottenham, London, and began her musical career as part of the UK-based girl group Boadicea, which she left to pursue a solo career.

In 2006, she began working with American producer Scott Storch, and later signed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing UK. She has written and produced for several artists including Melanie C, Michelle Williams, and Beyoncé.

Seyi Shay relocated to Nigeria in 2011 and signed a recording contract with Flytime Music. She released her debut studio album, Seyi or Shay, in 2015. She is known for her diverse musical style, incorporating elements of Afropop, R&B, and soul. Some of her notable singles include "Irawo," "Murda" featuring Patoranking and Shaydee, "Right Now," and "YOLO YOLO."

Beyond music, Seyi Shay has also ventured into acting, appearing in the movie Lara and the Beat. She has received several awards and nominations for her contributions to the Nigerian music industry.
