Onigocia

Onigocia is a genus of ray-finned fishes belonging to the family Platycephalidae, the flatheads. These fishes are native to the Indo-Pacific region. Species within the Onigocia genus are characterized by their flattened body shape, typical of flatheads, and bony ridges and spines on their head. They are bottom-dwelling predators, often found partially buried in sand or sediment, ambushing prey. The genus includes several species with variations in coloration and patterning, often providing camouflage in their respective habitats. They are generally small to medium-sized fish.
