Francis Smith (Australian politician)
Francis Smith (born 18 October 1874, died 27 July 1949) was an Australian politician. He served as a Senator for New South Wales from 1932 to 1938, representing the United Australia Party (UAP).
Born in Sydney, Smith worked as a public servant before entering politics. He was elected to the Senate in the 1931 federal election. During his term, he served on various Senate committees. He was defeated at the 1937 federal election and did not re-enter Parliament. His career was largely unremarkable, with no major legislative achievements or significant controversies associated with his name. Following his parliamentary service, he largely withdrew from public life.
