Schussen

The Schussen is a river in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is a right tributary of the Rhine, approximately 62 kilometers (39 miles) long. The river rises north of Bad Schussenried, flows mainly south, and discharges into Lake Constance near Eriskirch. The drainage basin of the Schussen covers an area of roughly 770 square kilometers. Major towns along its course include Bad Schussenried, Aulendorf, Ravensburg, and Friedrichshafen. The Schussen valley is known for its agricultural land and orchards. Historically, the river was important for mills and small industries. The Schussen is also popular for canoeing and kayaking.
