Schorssow

Schorssow is a municipality located in the Rostock district, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is situated approximately 42 kilometers east of Güstrow and 27 kilometers southwest of Teterow.

The municipality comprises several smaller settlements, including possibly but not limited to, Alt Schlagsdorf, Neu Schlagsdorf, and possibly parts of other nearby villages.

Schorssow's economy is primarily agricultural, although tourism also plays a role, given its location within the Mecklenburg Lake District. The landscape is characterized by rolling hills, forests, and numerous lakes.

Historically, the area has been inhabited for centuries, with evidence of Slavic settlements predating the German colonization. Schorssow, like much of Mecklenburg, experienced periods of control under various noble families and duchies throughout its history.

The municipal administration is responsible for local governance, including infrastructure maintenance, public services, and the organization of local events.
