Sarbel

Sarbel Michael (Σαρμπέλ Μιχαήλ), most commonly known mononymously as Sarbel, is a British-Greek singer. He is best known for representing Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "Yassou Maria," which placed 7th.

Sarbel was born in Southgate, London, to a Cypriot Greek father and a Lebanese Maronite mother. He studied music, drama, and art at St. Ignatius College. He began his professional singing career in Greece, releasing his debut album "Parakseno Synesthima" in 2004.

Following his Eurovision participation, Sarbel continued to release music and perform in Greece and Cyprus. His musical style is a blend of pop, R&B, and traditional Greek elements. He has released several albums and singles, and has collaborated with numerous artists.
