Sant'Egidio (Mantua)
Sant'Egidio is a frazione (subdivision) of the comune of Mantua, in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. It is located southwest of the city center of Mantua, primarily consisting of agricultural land and residential areas. Historically, Sant'Egidio was an independent municipality before being incorporated into the larger Mantua municipality. Its name derives from a local church dedicated to Saint Giles (Sant'Egidio in Italian). The area is characterized by its rural setting and its proximity to the Mincio River.
