Sanoor

Sanoor is a Palestinian village located approximately 26 kilometers southwest of Jenin, in the northern West Bank. Administratively, it falls under the Jenin Governorate.

Historically, Sanoor is known for its strategic importance and the imposing remains of its fortress, often referred to as Qal'at Sanoor. This fortress played a significant role in local power struggles during the Ottoman era and served as a center of resistance. It was constructed on a high hill, providing a natural defensive advantage.

The village's economy is primarily based on agriculture, with olives, fruits, and vegetables being the main crops. Many residents also work in nearby towns and cities.

Sanoor, like other Palestinian communities in the West Bank, faces challenges related to the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including restrictions on movement and access to land.
