Sande Church (Sunnmøre)
Sande Church is a parish church in Sande Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the village of Sande, on the island of Sande. The church is part of the Sande parish in the Søre Sunnmøre deanery in the Diocese of Møre.
The current church building is a wooden stave church that was consecrated on 23 October 1873. It was designed by architect Johannes Henrik Nissen. The church replaced an older church that had stood on the same site since the Middle Ages. The medieval church was a stave church as well.
The church has a seating capacity of about 300 people. The altarpiece depicts Jesus in Gethsemane and was painted by Christen Brun. The church also has a pulpit and a baptismal font.
The exterior of the church is characterized by its steep roof and its many windows. The church tower is located above the western entrance. The church is surrounded by a cemetery.
