Lindblad (crater)
Lindblad is a lunar impact crater that lies on the far side of the Moon. It is located to the northeast of the larger crater Mandel'shtam, and southwest of the crater van Gent.
The rim of Lindblad is somewhat eroded, with smaller impacts along the edge, particularly to the west and north. The interior floor is relatively level, with a few minor craterlets. The overall shape is somewhat irregular, deviating slightly from a circular form.
Lindblad lies within the Mendel-Rydberg Basin, a wide depression. Its formation likely predates the creation of that basin. The crater is named after the Swedish astronomer Bertil Lindblad.
