SU-100
The SU-100 was a Soviet tank destroyer developed and used during World War II and in the years following. It was based on the chassis of the T-34 medium tank but was armed with a powerful 100 mm D-10S gun. The SU-100 was intended as a more capable anti-tank weapon than its predecessor, the SU-85, and was designed to effectively engage newer German tanks such as the Panther and Tiger.
The vehicle entered production in late 1944 and saw widespread service on the Eastern Front during the final stages of the war. It proved to be a highly effective tank destroyer, possessing both good mobility and considerable firepower. The SU-100 continued to be used and exported by the Soviet Union and its allies for many years after the war's conclusion. It saw action in various conflicts, including the Arab-Israeli wars and the Vietnam War.
