James Tomkins (footballer)

James Tomkins (born 29 March 1989) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Crystal Palace.

Tomkins began his career at West Ham United, progressing through their youth academy and making his first-team debut in 2008. He spent several seasons with West Ham, including periods on loan at Derby County. He established himself as a regular in the West Ham defence, helping the club gain promotion back to the Premier League in 2012. He made over 200 appearances for the club in all competitions.

In July 2016, Tomkins signed for Crystal Palace. He has since become an important member of their squad, known for his aerial ability, tackling, and defensive organisation. He has consistently featured for the club in the Premier League.

Tomkins has represented England at various youth levels, including Under-17, Under-19, and Under-21. He was also part of the Great Britain squad that competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
