SNCAO 30
The SNCAO 30 was a French single-seat, single-engine monoplane fighter aircraft developed in the late 1930s by the Société Nationale de Constructions Aéronautiques de l'Ouest (SNCAO). It was designed in response to a 1936 French Air Ministry specification. Although showing promise in early stages, development was plagued by issues, most notably with its engine. The SNCAO 30 did not enter mass production. It is considered a transitional design, representing a bridge between earlier French fighter designs and those that would see widespread service in the early years of World War II. Its design incorporated retractable landing gear and an all-metal construction. While ultimately unsuccessful, the program provided valuable experience for the French aviation industry.
