Rusty Smith (American football)

Rusty Smith (born April 5, 1987) is a former American football quarterback. He played college football at Florida Atlantic University (FAU), where he was a three-time All-Sun Belt Conference selection.

Smith was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the sixth round (176th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft. He served as a backup quarterback during his time with the Titans. He appeared in four games for Tennessee, starting one, during the 2010 season.

Following his time with the Titans, Smith had stints with the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also played in the Canadian Football League (CFL) for the Montreal Alouettes.

Smith's professional football career was ultimately limited due to his role as a backup and various injuries.
