Ron Johnson (baseball)
Ron Johnson (born February 23, 1956) is a former Major League Baseball infielder and current minor league baseball coach. He played primarily as a third baseman.
Johnson played college baseball at Central Missouri State University (now the University of Central Missouri). He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 1978 MLB Draft.
He played in Major League Baseball from 1982 to 1984 for the Kansas City Royals, Montreal Expos, and New York Yankees. His best season was arguably 1982 with the Royals, where he saw his most significant playing time.
Following his playing career, Johnson became a coach. He has managed and coached in the minor leagues for several organizations, including the Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles. He is known for his work with developing young players.
