Roger Sweetman (Newfoundland politician)

Roger Sweetman (born October 18, 1926, died July 14, 2017) was a lawyer and politician in Newfoundland, Canada. He represented the district of Carbonear-Bay de Verde in the Newfoundland House of Assembly from 1956 to 1971.

Sweetman was a member of the Liberal Party and served in the cabinets of premiers Joey Smallwood and John Crosbie. He held various portfolios, including Minister of Municipal Affairs and Supply, Minister of Justice and Attorney General, and Minister of Provincial Affairs.

Prior to his political career, Sweetman was a lawyer. After leaving politics, he continued to practice law in St. John's until his retirement.
