Rodney (TV series)

Rodney is an American television sitcom that aired on ABC from 2004 to 2006. The series stars comedian Rodney Carrington as a fictionalized version of himself, a good-natured but somewhat clueless man from rural Oklahoma.

The show centers on Rodney Hamilton, a former construction worker who marries a sophisticated Chicago lawyer named Trina (Jennifer Aspen). The series follows their attempts to navigate married life and raise their son, Jack (Oliver Davis), while Rodney adjusts to life outside of small-town Oklahoma and Trina adjusts to life in a less polished environment. Recurring themes include culture clashes between Rodney's blue-collar background and Trina's more affluent upbringing, Rodney's relationship with his best friend Barry (Jon Reep) and his brother-in-law Charlie (Matt Champagne), and the challenges of parenting.

The show was known for its family-friendly humor and Carrington's stand-up comedy style, often incorporating elements of his routines into the episodes. Despite decent ratings during its first season, the show was ultimately cancelled after two seasons.
