Robert Holden (motorcyclist)

Robert Holden (1961 – 1996) was a New Zealand professional motorcycle racer. He was a highly respected figure in the sport, known for his versatility and success in a variety of racing disciplines, including road racing and superbike racing.

Holden achieved considerable success throughout his career, becoming a multiple-time New Zealand national champion in various classes. He also raced internationally, including participation in prestigious events such as the Isle of Man TT. He achieved multiple podium finishes at the TT, further solidifying his reputation as a talented and courageous racer.

Tragically, Robert Holden was killed in a racing accident during practice for the 1996 Isle of Man TT. His death was a significant loss to the motorcycle racing community. He is remembered as one of New Zealand's greatest motorcycle racers and a legend of the Isle of Man TT. The Robert Holden Memorial Senior TT race at the Cemetery Circuit in Wanganui, New Zealand, is held annually in his honor.
