Robert Hahn (professor)
Robert W. Hahn is an economist known for his work on regulation, market-based environmental policies, and the economic analysis of law. He is currently a Professor at the Pardee RAND Graduate School and a Senior Fellow at the Georgetown University Center for Business and Public Policy.
Hahn's research has focused on the application of economic principles to public policy issues, particularly in areas such as environmental protection, telecommunications, and health care. He has written extensively on the design and implementation of market-based environmental policies, such as cap-and-trade systems for pollution control. His work also examines the impacts of regulation on innovation and economic growth.
Hahn is the co-founder and former Executive Director of the American Enterprise Institute-Brookings Joint Center for Regulatory Studies. He has served as an advisor to government agencies, international organizations, and private firms on regulatory and economic policy matters. He is also the co-founder of Community Literacy of DC, a non-profit organization promoting adult literacy.
His publications include numerous articles in leading academic journals and policy-oriented outlets, as well as several books on regulation and public policy. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the California Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Mathematics and Economics from Carnegie Mellon University.
