Robert Gilchrist (cricketer)
Robert Gilchrist is a former first-class cricketer who played for Derbyshire in England.
Career: Gilchrist was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. He played for Derbyshire from 1976 to 1983. He made his debut against Lancashire in May 1976. Over his career, he played 95 first-class matches, scoring 3,256 runs with a highest score of 133. He took 57 wickets with a best of 4 for 32. In List A cricket, he played 54 matches, scoring 778 runs and taking 16 wickets. He also represented Derbyshire Second XI. After his Derbyshire career, he played Minor Counties cricket for Staffordshire.
Style and Technique: Gilchrist was known as a solid middle-order batsman and a useful bowler.
